Head: Distribution
Position in Sandton
Responsible for developing and executing the sales and distribution strategy for identified markets.

1. Strategy
• Develop, enhance and execute the Corporate distribution strategy
• Partner with the Corporate leadership team on all matters related to distribution providing sound insight and guidance.
• Develop tools and systems to provide critical market information to the Cluster CEO and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations.
• Identify and develop strategic partnerships to leverage new opportunities
• Analyse market changes, competitors, risks, opportunities and threats and create contingency plans for these in order to protect and grow market share.
• Monitor and track MIS/reporting and undertake corrective actions if required regarding the effectiveness of the strategy execution

2. Growing the Business Profitably
• Grow annual sales and meet business targets.
• Grows targeted market share by delivering on sales and client targets.
• Enable processes that grow market share in both intermediated and direct business.
• Establish a leadership position in all broker spaces stratified as big, medium and small brokers.
• Facilitate the development and execution of a sustainable new business pipeline
• Develop and drive an effective solutions focused consultative sales process to ensure clients’ needs are met and exceeded.
• Market/Competitor analysis and evaluation and identifying sales opportunities as a result of market changes.
• Mobilise the relevant teams in the organisation to achieve organisation’s Net Fund Flow targets
• Responsible for the effective management of Distribution practices and processes
• Drive business innovation through alternative distribution models.
• Identifies, manages and mitigates Distribution Risks

3. Alignment
• Management of key stakeholder relationships, internally and externally (across the cluster, the broader Group, key external service providers, industry peers).
• Promote the brand and the Corporate brand (in particular) and image by networking with key industry stakeholders and peers.
• Close collaboration with Institutional businesses within the Group.
• Working closely with the marketing team to devise marketing materials and tools to support new business activities.
4. People Management
• Transformational leadership through growing, guiding and coaching the current Distribution team to increase efficiencies and productivity.
• Drive a culture of high performance and client centricity through the development of an aligned, professional and proactive Distribution team who delivers against the agreed business targets and objectives.
• Develop talent and drive transformation.

• Relevant tertiary qualification (Masters level qualification and/or CFA would be beneficial).
• Extensive sales and distribution management experience in financial services (min 8 years).
• Experience in strategic and operational client relationship management, marketing, client services.
• Demonstrable network within the institutional space
• Strong commercial acumen and a proven sales track record.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Proven experience in developing strategy in particular client strategies that deliver commercial value.
• Ability to lead teams and be a manager of managers.
• Ability to coach, influence and inspire
