Job Description
Issues verbal and written instructions to production labour teams
Completes forms and documents
Manages time and attendance for labour teams
Identifies and operates a number of different tools
Supervises, checks and corrects work
Trains labour teams
Reads and plans work programmes
Evaluates labour productivity
Identifies and reports potential safety and security issues
Uses own judgement to manage staff
Estimates and schedules labour
Inputs into costs and budgets - has knowledge of prices and quantities
Manages irrigation programmes
Manages fertilizer programmes
Manages pest control programmes
Manages weed and fungus control programmes
Estimates harvest per hectare
Understands basic HR
Monitors use of and knows how to use farming equipment and machinery
Supervises all steps of the production process including planting, fertilizing, harvesting, and packing
Supervises the packhouse
Manages packhouse labour
Selects and employs labour
Manages labour discipline
Makes recommendations to senior management based on observations in the field
Reports against budget
Trains Production Managers
Coordinates all production activities
Selects and procures supplies, chemicals, fertlizers and other production goods

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications : Higher Diploma/Degree in Agriculture
Minimum Experience: At least 5 years in a similar role
5 years minimum, understanding of grapes, citrus agriculture and experience in warehousing
