VACANCY: HEAD OF DIVISION – BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
About the role
To direct the marketing and business development strategy of THE CLIENT to meet its vision and mission which is to ensure sufficiency of appropriate, affordable and accessible plasma derived medicines for the patients predominantly but not limited to South and sub-Saharan Africa. To identify new business opportunities and product design options. To grow the Biotechnology market and direct the business focus and business development of this division.
Minimum Requirements
Post graduate degree in Marketing (NQF 8)
Additional qualification in medical/paramedical field advantageous
At least 4 years’ experience at senior management level
Successful track record in the marketing of pharmaceuticals
Specific Operational Requirements
The successful candidate will be required to work an 8 hour day between 08h00 to 16h00 • The successful candidate may be required to work overtime to meet the business needs • Local and international travel will required to meet business needs
Key Performance Areas
Strategy, Marketing and Sales
Formulate and implement THE CLIENT’s marketing strategy
Develop and manage the new product pipeline and the expanded use of existing products
Direct the management of the Sales and Marketing function
Provide market feedback and advise on appropriate strategies
Development and management of the export market and sales and determining export pricing
Scouting and identifying relevant tender opportunities
Identify business opportunities and develop sales strategies to achieve new business
Provide guidance on the implementation of sales strategies
Determining product pricing to meet revenue
Preparation of proposals, new business estimates and business development reports
Distribution channel analysis and development
Administration and research
Keep abreast of industry developments and clinical use of THE CLIENT products
Compile relevant company reports
Financial Management
Develop multi-year sales forecast and revenue budget
Consolidate and present annual Divisional Budget for approval
Manage cost centre budget
Stakeholder liaison
Represent THE CLIENT at national, international industry, patient interest group and Department of Health forums as appropriate
Build strategic relationships with key external stakeholders
