Accountable for attracting, motivating and retaining talent through human resource management strategies that support growth, and uphold and develop our unique workplace culture.
Understand the people management objectives of different business areas and deliver plans and processes to support those objectives.
The role spans all the administrative and strategic aspects of the human resources function including overseeing HR administration and reporting; industrial relations, performance management; management of the People business team’s budget; HR compliance; recruitment, and retention.
Support corporate social investment, including staff volunteerism, as well as transformation and employment equity.
Assist to coordinate BBBEE-initiatives and -reporting across the organisation.

Report to the Executive Director responsible for people and marketing.

Tertiary qualification in human resources management – either a BCom or BA, preferably an Honours degree.

More than eight years’ experience working in a generalist HR management role within the financial services space.

Proven leadership and HR management skills, including all aspects of IR (performance management, disciplinary matters and CCMA cases), training and development, HR administration (including recruitment, leave management, payroll and all HR reporting) and employee relations;
Sound knowledge of legal, compliance and reporting requirements, including the Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act and Employment Equity Act – knowledge of the BEE codes under the Financial Services Sector Transformation Charter would be a strong recommendation;
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to design and implement processes;
Experience in drafting, implementing and managing HR and people-related policies;
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
Computer literate, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and HR management software, preferably Sage 300;

Prior experience in managing corporate social investment initiatives (CSI) would be a plus;
Strong administrative, people management and time management skills;
Be a team player, and flexible enough to wear different hats on different days;
Despite working in a team environment, take the initiative and work independently;
Strong work ethic and the ability to work under pressure
