Purpose of Position:
Complement Recruitment are recruiting for a Health & Safety Officer for a position based in Alberton, Johannesburg, Gauteng. OSHACT; SAMTRAC; Auditing; PPE & Training skills. Experience in a large, high pressurised environment essential.

Minimum Requirements:
? Matric; OSHACT; SAMTRAC; Valid ISO certification of both ISO9001 and ISO14001
? H&S Management
? ISO Certification
? Sustainability Reporting
? IOD Management
? Training; PPE; Auditing
? Contractors & Safety file management
? Company laptop; Use of company pool vehicle when needed; Cell phone
? Analysis of data

Duties:
• Control of H&S at premises, including communication
• Managing an effective PPE issue register
• Issuing/ordering of PPE
• Monthly / weekly inspections
• Management of measuring and monitoring of equipment
• Effective Surveillance program as required by ISO14001 e.g. noise, lux.
• Manage training as per OSHACT requirements
• Managing of monthly H&S meetings
• Toolbox talks for all departments
• Drawing up SOP and do training thereof
• Risk Assessment and training of risk matrixes
• Incident / near miss management
• Forward Learning documents
• Waste and recycle management
• Medical surveillance programme
• Upholding of ISO certification in branch
• Monthly collection of relevant information from all departments
• Submission of sustainability report to SHEQ dep on or before due date.
• Submission of all IOD for all branches
• Assisting branches with submissions
• Following up on any queries relating to IOD
• Ensuring that investigations are completed
• Ensure all contractors have a safety file
• Complete and compile safety files for customer sites
• Visiting client sites (HS files on a monthly basis)
• Audit results
• PPE issue register
• Inspection register
• Measuring and monitoring register
• Training certificates and appointments
• Minutes of meetings
• Meeting attendance registers
• Proof of training / training attendance registers
• Ensuring all near miss and incidents are logged on Rapid system
• Forward learning documents for each incident or near miss (toolbox talk)
• Waste management schedule
• Medical records of all staff
• Audit Reports
• Valid ISO certification of both ISO9001 and ISO14001
• E-mails for information
• Completion of spreadsheet for National
• Completion of information on on-line system
• Reports on Access data base
• Audit on contractor safety files & Reports
