Our client, a leading Diamond Mining Group is looking for an experienced and qualified HR Manager at their facility in Koffiefontein in the Free State Province.

Koffiefontein Diamond Mine is based in the town of Koffiefontein, located 100km from Kimberley and 136km from Bloemfontein.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the General Manager, the role provides leadership, subject matter expertise, collaboration and direction to the Mine’s Human Resources (HR) function in developing, implementing and leading effective HR strategies, policies, programmes and procedures that are aligned with the Petra Diamonds Vision, Mission, Values and business objectives considering the impact thereof on all internal and external stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible to define, lead and own the local HR and people strategy and participate in the design, development, and delivery
of different actions so that the outcomes meet the Operation’s current and future business objectives through attraction,
engagement, development, and motivation of employees.
Partner with the General Manager and his management team through the interpretation of HR policies and employment
legislation, advice on risk management, coach and support the management team in handling a wide range of HR related
matters.
Compliance to and the reporting of the Mining Charter, Work Place Skills Plan/Annual Training Report, Mine specific
Employment Equity Report and Social Labour Plan.
Partner with Group HR function to effectively implement organizational development, employee relations, communications,
compensation and benefits, and streamlined HR service delivery systems and programs aligned to Group HR standards.
Identify organizational development needs and in partnership with stakeholders’ design and implement strategies to address
the needs and optimize grant opportunities in partnership with the group HR development team, execute the mine specific
talent management plan.
Conduct climate surveys to keep in touch with potential employee engagement challenges and in partnership with
stakeholders’, design and implement mitigation plans. Development, coordination and implementation of strategic workforce
planning process to achieve objectives of the organization.
Facilitate the establishment of communication platforms and meeting structures.
Support the promotion of good employee relations and a harmonious work environment through advice to managers,
establishment of effective communication and consultation channels and dealing effectively and efficiently with difficult
situations. Collaborate with the ER team to pro-actively identify and manage potential ER incidents. Drive the implementation
of the sustainable development framework for the mine and management agreed outcomes.
Lead a team of human resources professionals.
Ensure that the team structure is resourced by motivated, engaged and empowered staff.
Oversee recruitment at all levels, final approver of hiring decisions.
Safety, Health and Environment: Model behaviour that is consistent with the Company Safety Vision and Values.
Safety, Health and Environment: Identify and interpret safety risks and resolve emerging issues; and ensuring that appropriate
focus and resources area available to achieve safety objectives.
Planning and Budget: Develop and execute a HR plan and budget and support business units HR related plan and budget in
order to demonstrate efficiency and effectiveness in achieving business performance objectives.
Engagement and Communication: Engage internal and external stakeholders on HR related matters, and support business
units on HR related engagement, working within Corporate stakeholder engagement and communication standards, guidelines
and strategies.
Engagement and Communication: Establish and maintain good working relationships and an effective / sound communication
system with the HR Function.
Reporting, Monitoring and Evaluation Audit: Ensure that all HR reporting is aligned with standards, guidelines and schedules.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Degree Human Resources Management OR BA Degree Industrial Psychology OR B Com Degree Industrial Psychology
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Human Resources generalist of which 3 years should have been at a supervisory or management level
Management Development Programme (MDP) or similar management development programme
Extension knowledge of applicable legislation (BCEA, EE, LRA, Skills Development)
Computer Literacy and Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Level)
Valid driver’s license

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
Ensure compliance to the Mining Charter, Work Place Skills Plan/Annual Training Report, Employment Equity Report and Social Labour Plan requirements and/or targets
Implement systems and procedures to ensure adherence to and the promotion of the relevant legislation
Identify business needs and align it with the strategic objectives of the organization
Develop, implement and review the performance management process to ensure effective organizational development
Monitor the progress of community development projects
Plan, align and manage the Human Resources Functions’ budget with the strategic objectives of the organization
