IFRS 17 Project Manager – Johannesburg office
Our client is looking to expanding its IFRS 17 team, offering a client facing role for a project manager who has a desire to assist a range of clients across Africa to implement IFRS 17. The candidate will report directly to the Associate Director who heads up the IFRS 17 implementation team.
• Develop, under the guidance of the Associate Director, a high-level understanding of IFRS 17 and the RiskIntegrity TM IFRS17 software developed by Moody’s Analytics and used by the team and some of its clients
• Develop a thorough understanding of implementation phases used for our IFRS 17 client implementation projects, including the resources needed, the prerequisites, deliverables and success criteria for each phase
• Project manage, in collaboration with client project managers, multiple IFRS 17 implementation projects across Africa (managing up to three clients at any one time)
o Develop detailed project plans
o Coordinate internal and client resources
o Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget
o Prepare reports for client Steering Committees and clients internal project meetings
• Track IFRS 17 resource availability
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in appropriate field of study
• Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies (Project Management Professional certification is our preference)
• Proven working experience in project management with at least one being a transformational programme involving technology, processes and people at a senior level (with preference for IFRS 9 implementation experience)
• Excellent client facing and internal written and verbal communication skills
• Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Willingness to travel to non-South African based clients from time to time
