Our client requires the services of a Project Engineer to investigate concepts and implement a wide range of Operational projects with the objective to enhance effectiveness, efficiencies and to save costs, either as project officer or project resource

Key performance areas:

? Successfully (timeously and within budget at the desired quality) manage a large number of concurrent projects by continuously performing, amongst others, the following activities
? Scope projects (incl. identifying associated outcomes and key milestones)
? Conduct project feasibility (financial and operational) studies
? Prioritize projects and project key milestones based on resource capacity constraints and stakeholder expectations
? Deliver (incl. managing stakeholders) project outcomes and key milestones;
? Manage stakeholder expectations (progress, issues and risks) through efficient (comprehensive but compact with emphasis on layout) and effective (site visits vs. meetings vs. telephone calls vs. emails) communications
? Identify and mitigate risks associated with projects or their associated outcomes and key milestones;
? Administer project artefacts (update registers, scan and file invoices)
? Update or develop (if required) departmental template artefacts (to enable consistency, repeatability and leveraging IP from completed projects).


The successful candidate must have:

? Matric with a B.Eng degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
? 1-3 years experience in a similar role
? Experience in managing a team
? Must have knowledge of building specifications pertaining to electrical reticulation, lighting, generators, uninterrupted power supplies, air conditioning, ventilation, fire detection, fire protection, vertical transportation and refrigeration
? Knowledge of buildings & equipment maintenance and support including reactive-, proactive-, and predictive maintenance methodologies, inspections-, conditional assessments- and audits of buildings & equipment, manuals for the maintenance, operation and cleaning of buildings & equipment
? Knowledge equipment procurement including setting detailed technical specifications for articles, identifying & vetting prospective suppliers, testing & developing prospective articles and negotiating prices and rebates
? Knowledge of water & electricity monitoring and efficiency retrofit rollout including water- and electricity meter installation and maintenance, power factor correction installation and maintenance, water- and electricity tariff optimization, billing overcharge identification and recovery, billing back charge verification and billing undercharge investigation
? Must have project and risk management skills
? Must have knowledge of feasibility studies and office administration
? Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
? Excellent computer skills (MS office & MS Projects)
