KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
Identify and explain the main components of equipment and systems, detailing their operational principles.
Understand the purpose and functionality of all field instrumentation.
Read and interpret P&ID diagrams, technical drawings, and wiring schematics.
Provide support to customers regarding control systems, instrumentation, and their integration within plant control systems.
Collaborate closely with Mechanical Commissioning Engineers to ensure cohesive system implementation.
Document and report all control-related activities performed on-site.
Resolve issues as needed, with assistance from the MDT headquarters.
Conduct basic control system operations and necessary adjustments during service and overhauls of turbomachinery and associated systems.
Adjust transmitters, positioners, and PLCs as required.
Replace and configure instruments, transmitters, and controls as necessary.
Execute changes to the control system to meet operational needs.
Demonstrate the ability to make informed decisions in complex situations with limited information.
Perform commissioning tasks, including calibration checks and loop checks for field instrumentation.
Commission motor control centers, motors, and control valves.
Inspect, adjust, and troubleshoot control systems, remote data transfer systems, and other control equipment.
Implement software modifications in control and visualization systems per MDT requirements.
Verify the functionality of startup interlock alarms and shutdown systems (engine protection) in coordination with the Mechanical Commissioning Engineer.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in commissioning control systems for turbomachinery.
Demonstrated expertise in commissioning or re-commissioning various types of control systems.
Proven experience in mechanical commissioning processes.
