Salary range: R10 000 - R12 000 / month (flexible according to experience)
Qualifications: Matric (Tertiary education would be an advantage)
Sage Online Accounting (or similar) experience
Experience: 3+ years of internal sales and invoicing experience (Account Management)
Working hours: Mo-Sa 04:00 - 12:30
Job Description:
Located in Epping, Cape Town, we are a produce wholesaler with a 9-year history of quality supply to a variety of consumers.
We currently have an opening for an experienced Invoicing / Sales Clerk.
The successful candidate will have experience within the wholesale fresh produce industry, understanding seasonality, availability, and variable cost factors.

The right candidate must have excellent stock and accounting system and computer skills, be a great communicator, have a positive attitude, be resilient, and be able to work with diverse personalities. We also value a team-oriented personality with high standards and a strong work ethic.
A continuous hunger to satisfy your customer’s needs as a subject matter expert in the fresh produce industry is an absolute must. You will be in constant contact with our buyers, stock controllers, and the rest of the operations team to make sure that you have the correct information for your client at your fingertips. This includes product knowledge, product availability, seasonality, understanding the whole process of out-of-stock sales, fulfillment timelines, and communication about when your client’s order will be ready for delivery or collection.
Anticipating customer needs and steering cost-effective upselling is part of your role. Can you put yourself into your client’s shoes and understand their needs almost better than they do? Are you proactive in communicating, picking up the phone to remind retail stores that they might need items not on their orders, upselling specials, and collecting their next order to ensure seamless and early order completion for the next day?
Requirements:
? Possess extensive and specialized knowledge of the fresh produce selling process and product lines through a wholesale or retail background.
? In-depth knowledge of product selling and accounting principles (debtor management, account management).
? Experience and knowledge of sales policies, processes and procedures.
? Ability to work the required hours/days as business dictates.
? Ability to run your client accounts and those of your sales colleagues with no help (here we can at any point in time cover each other’s duties).
? Sage Accounting skills - for Invoicing and Reporting
? Strong computer skills (MS Office, especially Excel)
? Own transport (lift clubs do not work with our variable hours)
Responsibilities & Duties:
? Daily order processing and invoicing of the correct stock batches
? Daily order compilations and changes according to customer requirements
? Daily communication with clients about in-stock inventory, out-of-stock motivations, inventory rotation, inventory arriving for same-day orders, and all cost and sales price information relevant to the process.
? Daily communication with the stock control department about repackaging, reworking, and possible stock specials to be relayed to customers.
? Daily global view of stock and sales reports to assist in maintaining inventory levels to
maximize sales and minimize spoilage
? Staying up to date with market trends, availability, and seasonality on a daily basis.

? Must maintain the highest level of customer service at all times
? Must be able to work under high-volume conditions with little to no supervision
? Must have excellent attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
? Must be systems/computer literate
? Must have excellent negotiation skills and strong problem-solving skills
? Must be a great communicator and have a positive attitude
? Must be resilient and be able to work with diverse personalities
? Ability to communicate effectively and maintain interdepartmental relationships
? Ability to handle difficult customer and even supplier situations when necessary
Qualifications:
? Matric (Tertiary Qualification a plus)
? Accounting software - SAGE Accounting (Sage Online) a plus, or similar
? 3+ years’ experience as a wholesale invoicing clerk / internal sales clerk
? Own transport (as working hours may vary)
? Experience in the Fresh Produce Industry is a big plus!

2) Have you ever worked ‘abnormal hours’ before – the hours for this position are from 04:00 until 12:30 from Monday until Friday and most Saturdays.
