Sovereign Foods, a national supplier of top quality locally produced chicken products to the SA market via various brands, is seeking to employ an IT Technician for its operations in Kariega (Uitenhage).

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and interested candidates for this position at the Group Services Division. The IT Technician is responsible for all IT Hardware, Software and Network infrastructure, support and related training.

The ideal candidate should have a National Diploma in Information Technology, or similar relevant field, 2 to 3 years’ experience in Information Technology support and / or system administration and a valid Driver’s License. MCSE would be advantageous. The position requires after-hours standby on a rotational basis.

Results Required:

• Timeous response to all IT related calls (Helpdesk)
• Installations of hardware and software
• Maintain network infrastructure
• Maintain Active Directory
• Maintain IT asset register
• Ensure Backups are done successfully (Veaam)
• Maintain print server and printers
• Support Production IT Infrastructure (Network, servers, scales and printers)
• Maintain virtual server infrastructure (VMWare)
