Purpose statement Service the company’s accounting needs
Reports to:
Financial Manager / Accountant

Job objective
a) Primary objective:
Processing monthly and ad-hoc payments, capturing data relating to payments and receipts, bank account reconciliations, petty cash reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, supplier account reconciliations. Assist with monthly information and support Financial Manager in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounts department.

Duties
People
- Ability to communicate with a variety of individuals on all levels in order to obtain and confirm information
- Contribute to the financial team’s overall action plan as per set work activities.

Processes
- Verification of payment requests and supporting documentation per the levels of authority and per the approved budget
- Capturing of supplier invoices to the correct accounts and projects as well as the correct treatment of VAT
- Verification of recipient banking details
- Preparation of EFT list
- Assist in preparation of cash flow forecast
- Loading and maintaining of recipients on the online banking system
- Preparation of payments and loading of payments on the online banking system for approval
- Sending out proof of payments
- Capturing of cashbooks for bank accounts, credit cards and petty cash held at different branches
- Reconciling bank accounts, credit cards and petty cash
- Customer invoicing on request
- Reconciling supplier accounts
- Capturing of monthly journals
- Prepare management information as requested
- Assist with budget control and prepare budget reports
- Participate in weekly planning meetings

Technology
- Apply systems and tools as provided
- Adhere to the company’s IT and security policies
- Finance / Growth - Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
- Assist with preparation of management information
Job Evaluation Criteria
Formal Education
Grade 12
Experience: Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience
