An exciting opportunity exists for a cosmetic compounder at a local skincare manufacturer based in Muldersvlei, Stellenbosch.

Responsibilities:

Picking, Dispensing and returns of Raw materials.

· Ensure the accurate dispensing of raw materials as per the product recipe.

· Maintaining full and accurate records of all dispensing transactions.

· Operation of efficient stock control appropriate to the needs of the dispensary with the objective of ensuring continuity of supply for compounding and minimising wastage.

· Ensure Materials are picked and dispensed on FIFO system to ensure that the oldest products are packed first.

· Keeps manufacturing orders separated and organized to avoid mix-ups and/or cross contamination.

· Sealing and tagging containers, confirming accuracy of material net weight and signing pick tickets to confirm.

· Ensure that works orders are closed timeously and that all supporting documents and transactions are comprehensive and complete.

Cleaning and sanitising of all dispensing, compounding, and filling equipment.

· Liaise with internal customers to ensure that all containers, vessels, tools, Utensils and change parts are collected, cleaned and sanitised according to the defined standards.

· Take ownership of the wash bay area making sure that it is maintained in a cleaned and organised state.

Quality

Ensure that materials dispensed retain their hygienic integrity.
Ensure that the relevant SOP’s are adhered to, to ensure that the product quality meets or exceeds the required standards.
Notify and liaise with relevant departments to resolve quality problems on materials received.
· Ensure any abnormalities are flagged to the Production Manager and/or Quality Manager to ensure product is dispensed and stored correctly.

Stock management

· Ensure that the Raw Material Store remains in a clean and orderly condition and that materials are stored as per their defined storage conditions.

· Ensure that products in the Raw Material Store remain in their designated storage location.

· Ensuring that refrigerated items are stored at the appropriate temperature and maintaining the temperature control record/logbook.

· Ensure that the Raw Material Store is depleted and replenished of a FIFO system.

Safety, Hygiene and Housekeeping

· Ensure that all unsafe acts or conditions are reported to the Production Manager to ensure that the workplace remains safe at all times.

· Ensure that all accident and incidents are reported and documented and assist in the investigation in accordance with the relevant SOP’s.

· Ensure that master cleaning schedules, sanitation logs and scale validation logs are completed and kept up to date.

· Ensure the relevant SOP’s are adhered to, to ensure that the equipment, environmental hygiene and GMP standards are met.

· Perform cleaning actions according to equipment schedule.

Maintenance, cleaning, and calibration activities

· Ensure equipment is calibrated according to the calibration schedule.

· Perform basic equipment checks according to maintenance check schedule.

· Breakdown maintenance – Inform when any equipment is not working / not operating as it should.

Ad Hoc Duties

· Carrying out various operations such as carton assembly, labelling, capping, cleaning, and packing

· Carry out any ad hoc duties as instructed by the Divisional Leaders in line with operation requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:

Matric – Mathematics and Science as subjects (essential).

Ability to perform physical labour.

Ability to communicate well to various levels of business.

Good organisational skills – all materials have a place and is stored in its place and the end of shift.

Meticulous Personality – analytical balances require precision when weighing.
