We have an exciting job opportunity for a Junior Facilities Manager to join a non-profit property company based in Cape Town! You will be responsible for undertaking and/or managing planned, routine and reactive maintenance and repairs of assigned properties. If you have 4+ years’ experience in facilities management or building maintenance, this job could be perfect for you!

Your key job responsibilities as the Junior Facilities Manager in Cape Town will include:

- Attend to simple Planned Maintenance; and routine or reactive maintenance of limited complexity in assigned properties, including preparing scope of works as required
- Carry out simple repairs on vacant units that have not been outsourced by the Facilities Manager
- Conduct and report on entry and exit inspections for assigned properties
- Assist in the continuous improvement of maintenance systems
- Required to be on emergency stand-by, after-hours and during weekends, on a rotational basis
- Manage assigned work of contractors, for assigned properties, in accordance to scope and specifications, quality and timing including certifying works and payments
- Ensure assigned contractors subject to his/her oversight, comply with Occupational Health and Safety Act and that all related documentation is kept up to date
- Coordinate building safety inspections on assigned properties including fire drills
- Implement safety recommendations
- Assist to help stabilise emergency situations at any property
- Update and close / resolve of cases on CRM
- Resolve customer maintenance cases in a prompt and professional manner
- Assist the Stakeholder Relations Manager to develop and/or implement a tenant communications plan for planned, and large routine or reactive maintenance works
- Submit and recommend communications content to Stakeholder Relations Manager to ensure adequate, advanced and sufficiently detailed communication to tenants for planned and large routine or reactive maintenance works

Requirements for this Junior Facilities Manager job in Cape Town:

- 4 - 7 years’ experience in facilities management or building maintenance
- Experience in planning and managing maintenance projects with limited complexity
- Experience managing contractors
- Knowledge of and experience in compliance with relevant building codes and legislation
- Knowledge of the property industry
- Knowledge of relevant building codes and legislation including SANS, Municipal by-laws, Occupational Health and Safety Act
- A working knowledge of building and facilities management
- A track record in successfully delivering projects against time, cost and quality targets
- Drivers’ license - frequent travel may be required in the course of duties
