JUNIOR HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICER (FIXED TERM CONTRACT ( 1-4-2021-DEC 2021) 9 MONTHS

MUST HAVE A NATIONAL DIPLOMA / OR A SAMTRAC QUALIFICATION
MUST HAVE A MIN OF 3 YEARS EXPERIENCE WITH 1-2 YEARS IN AUTOMOTIVE ( NO AUTOMOTIVE WILL DISQUALIFY YOU)
MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 2 SHIFT PATTERN (6-2 AND 2-10)
MUST BE ABLE TO START BY 1-4-2021

KEY JOB OUTPUTS : The key job outputs of the function include, but are not limited to:
• Maintaining occupational Health, Safety and Environmental (OHSE) Management Systems (ISO 14001 and (18001)
• Continuous improvement of OHSE interventions (e.g. tool box talks)
• Assist with the management of OHSE representatives and OHSE sub-committees.
• Managing incident investigations, risk assessments, audits and inspections in conjunction with the SHE Officer.
• Facilitate IOD processes for injuries that occur on duty.
• OHSE induction of new employees and contractors.
• Audit contractor compliance (OHSE files, compliance with Company safety regulations etc.).
• Assist in compiling and presenting monthly reports (incident trends, analyzed data, audit gaps and corrective actions).

KEY COMPETENCIES: Essential competencies (knowledge/skill) required to perform outputs:
• Must have a recognized national diploma in health and safety.
• SAMTRAC Qualification is advantageous
• Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in OHSE within the automotive industry (Advantageous)
• Have minimum of 3 years’ experience in incident investigation, risk assessment and auditing (OHSE) (Advantageous)
• Be fully Computer Literate (Excel & Outlook Email)
• Willingness to work shifts
