What the person must be able to do:

This role is in the plastics manufacturing sector. All duties would take place in this context.

* Ensure production schedule is adhered to
* Support engineering changes to tools
* Enhance ergonomics of injection moulding process
* Oversee Machine Maintenance
* Ensure machines are working defect free
* Recording and taking appropriate action to ensure process stability
Lean workshops:
1. SMED – Tool changing
2. 5S
3. Cycle time reduction
4. Weight optimization

Key Job Deliverables:

* Ensure Injection Moulding Machines are in peak condition
* Ensure Injection Moulding Process is optimal
* Ensure staff are well trained and effective on machine utilisation
* Achieve OEE (Overall equipment effectiveness) of 85%

Background work experience:

* 2 years Injection Moulding or critical process related manufacturing
* 2 years Production Process Optimisation
* 2 years Manufacturing of Injection Moulded Components
* 2 years Lean or Automotive (IATF)
* Plastic Moulding Diploma or Production Management Diploma OR Industrial Engineering Diploma
* Thorough understanding of manufacturing principles
1. Lean systems
2. Process control
* End to end understanding of injection moulding from raw materials to finished product
* Understanding of how to optimise injection moulding processes
* Understanding of the intricacies of injection moulding and what can go wrong such as warping
* Ensuring that staff are enabled and empowered to perform their duties
* Advantageous: Automotive manufacturing experience
