QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience:
? Matric (Senior Certificate)
? A relevant diploma/certificate in biochemical/medical technology
? A tertiary qualification (diploma / degree) in a relevant field. Registration with HPCSA as medical laboratory technician
? One year of working within a clinical research environment with a valid GCP certificate

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Research:
Perform clinical trials laboratory functions
? Will be responsible for organizing national and international shipping of samples
? Receive and capture samples from clinical teams as defined in protocol/SOP
? Check and verify that details on tubes and labels correspond
? Check the suitability of samples to be analysed or processed – as defined per protocol/SOP
? Check the tests required and log them on the worksheetn maintain of data for developing analytic dashboards
Quality Assurance and Control
? Perform internal quality control of laboratory operations in conjunction with relevant staff and assess their accuracy and conformance
? Conform to laboratory quality controls and report any deviations
? Oversee the maintenance and calibration of equipment, performing routine QC and QA
? Report any quality control issues to site management
Customer Service:
? Build and maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders ensuring that all interactions are professional
? Must be willing to work flexible hours and possible weekends, if required
? Identify opportunities for process improvements with clinical, QA/QC and administrative teams
? Other laboratory duties as required
Reportingt:
? Take Collate and present monthly laboratory issues reports to site management.
? Develop monthly stock reports and inventory updates for ongoing protocol
