Duties and Responsibilities:
• Operating ICP-OES and assisting with setting up of test methods;
• Testing samples from customers and the manufacturing facility;
• Assisting with routine checking on formulations and product data;
• Assisting with problem solving;
• Preparing laboratory samples, testing solutions and indicators as and when required;
• Complying with defined SHE and quality procedures;
• General report writing;
• Attending to any reasonable requests from the Technical Consultant from time to time;
• Complying with defined SHE and Quality procedures;
• Customer training on sample analysis;
• Updating the laboratory request form file (receiving the samples in);
• Assisting with general method development;

Authorities Description:
• Suggestions as to problem solving in relation to corrective action in connection with customer samples;

Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Attributes/Skills:
• Matric plus a Diploma in Analytical Chemistry or BSc – Chemistry degree;
• 3 years’ work experience in an analytical laboratory.
• Proven track record on ICP-OES and setting up of test methods;
• Proven track record and experience in wet chemistry analysis;
• Familiar with general laboratory equipment e.g. pH, conductivity, UV VIS spectrometers and ISE systems;
• Familiar with good laboratory practice;
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 systems;
• Should be Microsoft Office proficient;
• Must not be colour blind;
