LABOUR / CCMA LEGAL SECRETARY

Employment: Permanent, full-time position

Qualification: Secretarial qualification required
Salary: R15 000 – R20 000

Working experience and knowledge of the following:
Our client is looking for a highly accurate, organized, hardworking Labour Legal Secretary to join their team.

Looking for someone with the following essential work experience for at least 3 – 5 years:
• Previously worked in a Labour practice
• Litigation (High, Labour and Constitutional Courts and arbitrations)
• Labour (CCMA, Labour court documents, opinions etc)
• Commercial (Contracts, agreements, opinions etc)
Minimum Requirements:
• An organised, experienced Legal Secretary with 3 to five years’ experience
• Employment Law exposure
• Proficient in typing / word – processing
• Good at spelling and grammar
• Excellent communicator
• Tactful, with good interpersonal skills
• Ethical, especially with confidential matters
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Prepared to work overtime as and when required
• General knowledge of Labour Court, CCMA and General Public Service Sector Bargaining Council (GPSSBC) procedures.
• Ghost Practice and MS Office experience
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Dictaphone typing;
• Typing of letters/notices/legal opinions, minutes of board meetings;
• Drafting statement of accounts and invoicing;
• Sending out invoices to clients at month end
• Following up on outstanding debtors;
• Drafting monthly reports for clients;
• Filing, diarising of files and court dates/consult dates
• Attending to telephone calls, liaising with clients/advocates/correspondents, Labour Court, CCMA & GPSSBC and arranging consultations with parties;
• General secretarial and administrative duties;
• Maintaining director calendar by planning and scheduling conferences, teleconferences, dispositions, and travel; recording and monitoring court appearance dates, pleadings, and filing requirements; monitoring evidence-gathering; anticipating changes in litigation or transaction preparation requirements.
• Communicating and obtaining information; following-up on delegated assignments; knowing when to act and when to refer matters to attorney.
