LEATHER MIXING ROOM TEAM LEADER – relevant experience essential

Required relevant work experience:
5+ Years working experience in a LEATHER FINISHING INDUSTRY essential - light and dark colour matching on leather and at least 3-year supervisory experience in the industry.

Permanent, full time position
Location: Ga-rankuwa, Pretoria North, Gauteng
Salary: Basic R 17500 per month plus benefits

Essential qualifications: Matric or equivalent with a Leather Finishing Certificate and / or Production Management Certificate.

• Process batches into the required colour tolerances and to customer specifications.
• Control of colour from Mixing room to Final inspection.
• Organise and control mixing rooms and mixing room resources, including staff.
• Adjust pigment combinations for optimum colour control as per work instruction
• Ensure pigments are recorded on chemical control sheet see procedure
• Reject hides not complying to colour and record as non-standard material.
• Ensure that colour control printouts are done and signed by the responsible persons.
• Reduce chemical wastage where possible and report any expired chemicals.
• Ordering and control of finishing chemicals in the Mixing room and factory.
• Inform and organize the maintenance to fix any problems in the mixing room.
• Report any environmental incidents to your superior.
• Conservation of all resources such as electricity and water.
• Stop production in collaboration with the Technical Manager to correct colour problem.
• Sign off batches in consideration of the internal tolerances against external tolerances
• Ensure a high standard of safety and housekeeping is implemented and maintained.
