Salary: R3500 plus commission

Thuthukani Housing Finance is a non-bank credit provider with a national footprint. They currently have a vacancies for Loan Officers within the Building merchants to assist the clients with their loan applications, do business development within the branches to increase/develop the incremental home loan division.

Qualifications and experience
• Matric
• Relevant tertiary qualification – or currently studying - will be an advantage
• Experience in the credit industry is an advantage (training will be provided)
• Sales experience will be an advantage

Purpose of the position

To sell financial services to customers
To evaluate or recommend approval of credit loans
To advise borrowers on financial status and payment methods

Key responsibilities and duties
Sales
• Determine customers' financial services needs and prepare proposals to sell services that address these needs
• Prepare forms or agreements to complete sales
• Sell services, or check processing services.
• Contact prospective customers to present information and explain available services.
• Develop prospects from current customers, referral leads, or sales meetings
• Plan and implement marketing projects and outdoor events in the area
• Build and maintain positive relationships within the store with the management and employees.

Loan Application
• Assess applicants' financial status to determine feasibility of granting loans
• Obtain and compile copies of loan applicants' credit histories, corporate financial statements, and other financial information
• Meet with applicants to obtain information for loan applications and to answer questions about the process
• Verify accuracy of financial information
• Explain to customers the different types of loans and credit options that are available, as well as the terms of those services
• Review loan agreements to ensure that they are complete and accurate according to policy.
• Refer loan applications to Head office for approval
• Handle customer complaints and take appropriate action to resolve them
• Stay abreast of new types of loans and other financial services and products to better meet customers' needs
• Review and update credit and loan files
• Submit applications to credit department for verification and recommendation

• Previous experience within the Financial Services Industry will be an advantage
