Logistics Analyst & Service Coordinator (AA)
Area: Boksburg, Gauteng
Package: Basic Salary R38500 plus Medical Aid, Provident Fund, 13th cheque, performance bonus

Purpose of the position:
• To support the logistics manager in ensuring that all logistics service providers deliver levels of service stipulated in their respective contracts.
• To ensure that logistics service providers apply their respective rates within the boundaries specified in the 3PL contracts.
• Update and distribute to internal customer’s logistics costs versus PA and provide appropriate analysis of logistics costs and propose solutions to reduce or keep logistics costs under control.
• Manage appropriate RFQ’s/RFI’s and sourcing of logistics related services and product under the Logistics Manager’s guidance.
• Draft & implement logistics related contracts under the Logistics Manager’s guidance.
• To ensure that all related logistics costs are booked properly in the financial system.
• To ensure that all logistics service providers are paid in accordance with their respective contracts.
Duties:
• Check that appropriate service levels are maintained as specified in relevant contracts
• Ensure that invoices from service providers are checked to ensure that the rate stipulated in the contract has been applied.
• Ensure that invoices are checked to ensure that the correct quantity has been stipulated.
• Ensure that invoices are checked to ensure that backing documentation is provided (such as POD) to confirm that the service specified on the invoice has been delivered correctly.
• Ensure invoices from service providers are submitted on time to ensure that the matching and accrual principals are fulfilled.
• Ensure that there is clear communication with service providers to ensure that invoices are submitted in time to coincide with financial period closure.
• Ensure that invoices are submitted to logistics manager for approval on regular & timeous basis.
• Ensure that invoices are captured in JDE on time.
• Ensure that service providers are paid according to negotiated accounts payable terms and conditions.
• Ensure that logistics costs & activity data are uploaded into RAF on a monthly basis as per finance’s closing deadlines.
• Ensure that the AFS Logistics Cost report is submitted on a monthly basis to logistics, central and finance for monitoring real cost vs PA.
• Ensure that the Global Logistics report is updated and submitted to the supply chain manager and central on a monthly basis.
• Update the report and provide appropriate analysis of the state of logistics activity & costs with appropriate suggestions for correcting deviation from PA.
• Ensure that service provider details are accurately maintained on JDE.
• Manage appropriate RFQ’s/RFI’s and sourcing of logistics related services and products under the Logistics Manager’s guidance.
• Draft & implement logistics related contracts under the Logistics Manager’s guidance.
• Apply and maintain daily Internal Control checks.
• Approve daily collections / change of delivery requests via email.
• Ensure that Demurrage and Detention charges are queried and kept to a minimum for all inbound containers received.
• Ensure that all container discrepancies are logged on the RLO system.

Experience and qualifications
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience
• Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain/Logistics
• Computer Literate
• Very analytical
• Understand Import & Export (Clearing & Forwarding)
• Moving Cargo - Cross border experience
• Logistics practices
• Transport Techniques
• 3 or 4PL Management
• Logistics Cost Vs Services Management
• Supply chain process
