Salary: R15 - 20 000 per month CTC

The Logistics Controller will be responsible for general fleet management including instructing, overseeing and managing the completion of tasks assigned to drivers.

Candidates will need to meet minimum requirement to qualify for consideration including:
Suitably qualified in logistics or transportation
2 - 3 years’ experience in a similar environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office

Duties:
Updating and implementing of logistic policies and procedures ensuring staff members remain informed
Ensure legal compliance, conduct risk assessments, audits, environmental management, injuries on duty and safe working procedures are maintained
Identify, assist with and assign employees for training and competency testing
Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule drivers and assistants to ensure on time deliveries
Allocate trucks to bays according to load sizes and ensure employees load timeously and without damage to stock
Conduct safety audits and report of findings
Ensure that the validity of COF’s, licenses and transport permits are checked prior to dispatching a vehicle
Conduct pre-trip inspections and driver briefing
Ensure all load documents are prepared and checked prior to dispatching and documents are collected and checked on delivery completion
Address and resolve breakdowns, late deliveries etc.
Maintain a register and control vehicle keys and key drop box
Rotate vehicles between local and country trips
Monitor trucks via C-Track and process reporting
Maintain an accurate record of trips
Calculate driver wages and subsistence allowances
Fuel management input and control
Maintain customer booking systems, dates, times and loading
Submit booking plans
Ensure ongoing communication with customers to maintain service quality
Evaluate and measure staff performance
Maintain a positive working environment
Ensure measures are put in place to contribute to a safe and healthy working environment
Maintaining open & clear communication with customers on Priority lists, shortages, and fast-moving items
