MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN
PERMANENT

Job Purpose
To carry out preventative and emergency maintenance on all electrical equipment and to ensure that business interruption is minimized.

Key Responsibilities:

• 220vdc and 380vac motor overhaul, fault finding. 380v switch gear overhaul and wiring.
• Electrical check on the generator.
• Understand the overall operation of the backup plant and all related equipment.
• Motor testing, protection relays.
• Fault finding on Air conditioners.
• Panel wiring including wiring of motor starters.
• Read and Interpret electrical drawings.
• Design and wire electrical protection circuits.
• Monitor and maintain all HVAC axillaries which include Circulating water pumps and condenser fans.
• Monitor the UPS operation and follow up on the SLA with the service provider
• Must be prepared to do standby and callout duties and overtime when required
• Keep work area clean and presentable.
• Maintain tools and equipment and keep parts and supplies in order
• Ensure that best operating practice is applied when undertaking maintenance tasks/ repairs within the Health & Safety regulations.

• Adhere the organisation’s Health and Safety requirements at all times
• Ability to maintain good relationships with school personnel, students, and the general public.
• Ensure that feedback is given to customers on completion of work.
• Walk the extra mile to ensure customer’s need has been addressed.
• Maintenance done as per standard Sci-Bono procedures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

1.1 EDUCATION
• Matric
• Minimum N5 or N6 (Electrical Heavy Current)
• Electrician Trade Test
• Wireman Licence

1.2 RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE
• 4 years Maintenance Electrician experience

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES)

• Good fault finding skills
• Heavy industrial experience will be an advantage
• Ability to resolve faults within a specified time
• Computer skills
• Driver’s license will be an advantage
