Maintenance Manager
Cape Town, Western Cape | Full Time | EE Candidate | CTC of R 17K to R 20K plus 5% provident fund employer contribution

You will be at the heart of our maintenance and empowered to deliver on our client's mission to provide a leading student product and experience.

As the Maintenance Manager, you will be expected to manage the maintenance team and any other maintenance projects as and when required and provide recommendations management.

Manage the work conducted by the maintenance team (standards must be met by the in house artisans as well as Contractors)

Manage the maintenance standards in the buildings.
Work with the Regional manager in the establishment and maintenance of:
Scheduled
Planned
Emergency
Life cycle
And preventative maintenance programmes

Manage the implementation of an effective on-line maintenance report system within all buildings.

Ensure that the maintenance log is current within a 24-hour time frame;

Weekly report on the job card status for the region/buildings under your control in the approved format;

Ensure that the job cards are being managed and controlled correctly;

Ensure vacate and intake is managed in accordance with departmental objectives; and

All other ad hoc tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Dealing with contractors.

Cost of student damages/vandalism must be managed and controlled in order for the client to recover these funds, as such you need to ensure you communicate this timeously and accurately;

Assist in building maintenance budgets, in conjunction with your line manager

Analyze maintenance expenditure per building on budget vs. actual with reasons for differentiation;

Assist in annual maintenance budgeting;

Obtain quotes for maintenance projects from suppliers;

Assist in the purchasing of materials required for maintenance

Ensure that the app is up and running and that tickets are assigned to the correct artisans

Uphold the service level agreement (SLA) turnaround times and address the turnaround times should the need arise

Perform other ad-hoc projects as and when required by management

Inherent Requirements:

EDUCATION:
Matric
National Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or relevant

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Must have at least 3 years’ experience in a similar maintenance manager position.

Must be computer literate:
Word
Excel
Outlook

Valid driver’s license and own transport
Must have a wide knowledge of the different trades, (Electrical, plumbing, carpentry).
Must be able to manage a maintenance team.
