Our Client, a well-known Logistics and Transport company based in Wellington has an opportunity for a MANAGER. This role will be responsible for all coordination of labour ensuring daily tasks are executed timeously and with required labour.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for managing and monitoring the standard and availability of the Organisation’s general worker personnel.



MAIN FUNCTIONS

General Workers (National)
Administration - debriefing on relay basis
Local drivers check
Planning with regard to saving capacity (general workers) - download list organization
Manage pick-up and drop-off with regard to vehicles and personnel
Assist Manager: Drivers


KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

1. GENERAL WORKERS – DIVER ASSISTANTS

Determining needs of General Workers and submitting them to Management.
Recruitment and Selection - Get Manager Support: Operational Support.
Ensure valid employment contracts for workers.
Collect sick certificates and report WCA cases.
Keep attendance register on a daily basis and report to Management.
Collect timecards from contract henchmen.
Pass register and timecards for wages.
Connect honeymooners with drivers - daily and long term.
Ensure / plan that everyone knows ahead of time when and with whom to drive.
Provide solutions for overload storage, wash bay and sections as requested.
Assist with the training of general workers.
Address problems and needs.
Continuously introduce new controls on attendance register and long-term links between drivers and general workers.
Management of general workers in depots.
Prepare weekly food bill lists for general workers - pass on to the person concerned who passes it on to staff administration.


2. LOCAL DRIVER CHECK

Placement of local drivers and local general workers on vehicles using Driver Drivers - organization and reporting.


3. PLANNING: SAVING CAPACITY (HANDLING)

General Workers: Long-haul RSA
General Workers: Outside depots locally
General Workers: Long Road Namibia
General Workers: Wellington depot locally
Local drivers - upload and download


4. MANAGING AND ORGANIZING VEHICLES AND DEPARTURES IN DEPOTS AND ORGANIZING STAFF

You will perform this function on a daily basis as well as on weekends.
Organization of download storage - need from Storage personnel.
Organization of “wash bay” - need from Terrain Coordinators.


5. ASSIST AND ASSIST AS REQUIRED FOR MANAGER: LOCAL & LONG ROAD DRIVERS AND ADMINITRATION

Obtaining reports in investigations against henchmen with regard to disciplinary action.
Maintaining discipline, applying it according to disciplinary policy and conducting disciplinary hearings.
Receive download list - do planning - then organize and file for honeymooners and local drivers.
Assist the Diesel Manager, if necessary, with the fulfilment of Diesel Bonuses.
