MANAGER - PHARMACEUTICAL MANUFACTURING

About the role
o Supports GMP compliant manufacture of pharmaceutical products by
o Appropriately deploying, developing and training the human resource base in the department
o Championing compliance daily as a corporate lifestyle and standard approach to daily work
o Monitoring and reporting production output and adjusting resources to meet agreed upon targets
o Monitoring and reporting expenses against budget
o Ensuring that CAPEX assigned to the cost centre is properly maintained and meets financial audit requirements in conjunction with finance
o Assists the Division Head with strategic planning for the Department with respect to headcount, capital equipment, budget, compliance and training.

Minimum Requirements
o BSc in the Engineering or Life Sciences
o Minimum of 5 years technical experience
o Minimum of 3 years management experience in a manufacturing environment

Additional Requirements
o MBA adds value but only if coupled with experience
o GMP manufacturing experience preferred

Specific Operational Requirements
o The successful candidate will be required to work an 8 hour day between 08h00 to 16h00
o The successful candidate may be required to work overtime to meet the business needs
o The successful candidate must be prepared to work shifts when needed.
o The successful candidate will be required to undertake travel within South Africa and spend time away from home

Specific SHE Requirements
o Pre-employment, routine and exit medicals are compulsory due to the nature of the business.
o SHE Related training is mandatory to attend
o Adherence to SHE Instructions (Waste Segregation, Water and Energy Saving Initiatives)
o Compliance to SHE Site Rules is compulsory
o NBI uses hazardous and biologically active chemicals, the successful candidate will be required to use proper PPE and will go through medical examinations as per OSH Act requirements.

o Manages production resources to minimize errors in manufacturing and streamlines workflow within the Department.
o Ensures compliance with GMP and other relevant legislation
o Cost Centre Management by preparing reports and yearly budget in consultation with the Division Head
