VACANCY: MARKETING CO-ORDINATOR
DIVISION: ANIMAL HEALTH – KYRON LABORATORIES
REPORTING MANAGER: GENERAL MANAGER

JOB OBJECTIVE

The function of Marketing Co-Ordinator within Kyron Laboratories is to work on marketing strategies and to provide general marketing support to the business as a whole by creating product-related printed material (i.e. package inserts, tags, labels etc). The role includes providing support to the Sales Team in the form of advertising, printed literature, website maintenance and support. This responsibility will exist through the complete product life cycle from idea through development, launch and expansion of product.

TASK DESCRIPTION
1. Manage the marketing function:
a. Assist in planning, developing and implementing strategies to increase sales of the various divisions in the company. This will include increasing company and product brand awareness through public relations, advertising and relevant placing of company- or product-specific copy/editorials in the media.
b. Prepare and type letters, memos, emails, labels, routine correspondence, etc. Type, copy and/or distribute reports, proposals, presentations, etc. Proof documents for spelling and grammar. Enter information into spreadsheets and databases.
c. Interface with customers (veterinary practices or end-users of products) and suppliers (printers, publishers, etc) via telephone, email, website or Facebook.
d. Attend sales meetings [weekly]:
i. Present new marketing material (leaflets, brochures, magazines, etc) to staff at the meeting.
ii. Take brief minutes about the meeting.
e. Conduct market research to determine market requirements for existing and future products.
f. Assist and Determine and manage the marketing budget.
g. Develop an annual marketing plan and review of past activity. This should detail the year’s activity to meet agreed company objectives and will be presented at the Annual Planning Meeting to Directors, General Manager and Operations Manager.
h. Co-ordinate all online marketing efforts
2. Co-ordinate Advertising:
a. Create advertising Plan & Make Media Bookings
b. Manage Media Bookings
c. Manage invoices/advertising spend
d. Manage, Create and Edit Advertising Material
e. Deal with ad-hoc advertising spend
3. Facilitate publicity of publications:
a. Create a Publicity Plan
b. Generate Editorial Content
c. Manage Editorial Give-Aways
d. Manage Ad-Hoc Editorial Requests


4. Manage requests for sponsorships:
a. Dealing with all incoming sponsorship request via a set procedure
b. Generate Vouchers as per the set procedure
c. Generate Hampers to create exposure
d. Dealing with all Club Programmes / Catalogues and Thank You letters
e. Tracking Voucher Winners
f. Contacting Voucher Winners with an Interest in Receiving updates
g. Publicise Events we’ve Sponsored on Facebook
5. Generate Supportive Marketing Material:
a. Design, finalise, print and distribute Newsletters / Leaflets / Brochures / Booklets / Banners
b. Inform the Accounts department of the receipt of the marketing material
c. File copies of all marketing material for future reference.
6. Manage Veterinary CRM Database
7. Facebook:
a. Manage both Kyron and Arnica Ice platforms

EDUCATION AND KEY EXPERIENCE
• A Post Matric Marketing / Business Qualification
• Broad understanding of how the marketing environment could impact budgets etc.
• Computer literate – advance use of Microsoft office (work, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook); knowledge of CorelDraw and Photoshop will be an advantage.
• Work experience in marketing field an advance.
• Be able to negotiate and persuade internal and external customers.
• Team player
