RedCat Recruitment is seeking an experienced and trade tested MECHANIC ASSISTANT for a large concern – position based in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands area.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Grade 12.
Valid Code 08 driver’s license.
Person must be competent in English / Zulu (read / write / speak).
Completed trade test.
Competent computer skills (MS Office, Email / Internet).
12 months experience in a similar role is essential.
Previous heavy industrial plant industry experience an advantageous.
Assist mechanic with scheduled and unscheduled services (replace and repair worn and defective parts, re-assemble mechanical components, change filters, and perform other routine mechanical tasks).
Ability to analyse logistical information – to identify and solve logistical problems.
Maintain a high level of safety, discipline and housekeeping in the workshop area and maintenance of plant.
Compliance with mining, health, safety and environmental legislation in area of responsibility.
Regulatory/legal understanding of OHSA and Environmental awareness.
