Mechanical Degree Design Engineer Automation Engineering Systems - JHB
Must be able to start immediately or within 1-2 days
Mechanical Degree 4year Engineering Degree is essential
Good Solid works Design experience is essential
Must have driver’s license and own transport
Background in automated engineered systems preferred
Minimum 3 - 8+ years’ experience in mechanical design field, within the Automation industry
Proficient in 3D CAD modelling – specifically Solidworks
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Able to work under pressure and to deadlines
Knowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware and software (advantageous)
Working Background Mechanical designing in automated engineered systems preferred
Conceptualize and design mechanical purpose-built machinery, industrial equipment, robotic welding and assembly cells, Body in White, Jigs, Fixtures, Conveyor systems and lifting equipment and sheet metal structures.
Analyse mechanical functionality of systems, including Finite Element Analysis.
Specification of electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.
Develop manufacturing drawings in accordance with applicable company standards using Solidworks and 3D CAD Modeling.
Interface with Customers, Vendors, Production Managers and Procurement to find optimal solutions.
Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Confer with Automation engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions and provide technical information.
Work to Company CAD and PDM standards.
Detailed Designs must be done to ISO, SABS and Customer Standards.
Specify system components or direct modifications of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
