Mechanical Engineer - Open Cast Mining.
Formal Qualification BSc or National Diploma Mechanical Engineering, Minimum 8 years relevant experience. Must be prepared to travel as responsibilities will be to oversee various operational units and sites.
Must have an established experience and knowledge of Crushing plants, Engineering drawings and design, Strong problem-solving skills, be computer literate and deadline driven.
Responsibilities will be managing medium to large projects and sites using engineering principles and techniques. Managing and development of site staff. Developing, testing and evaluating theoretical designs, able to solve complex problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors, suppliers and customers. Manage Plant performance in specified operating environments. Planning and designing new production processes , be able to recommend modifications following prototype test results
Must have relevant computer skills for research, analytical, conceptual and planning skills, particularly mathematical modelling and computer-aided design. Will manage cost and safety and time constraints, monitoring and commissioning of plant system.
Manage Maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all mechanical and hydraulic- and diesel-powered equipment.
Design, install and repair plant machinery and parts.
Building engine and gear components, maintaining conveyors
Provide routine assistance to technical staff on complex engineering projects.
Conduct field inspections and surveys. Perform engineering calculations, prepare materials and cost estimated, for planned maintenance and breakdown work.Compile maintenance reports
Costing and financial reporting, Compile production reports.
