Location: SADC role will focus on Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Malawi and Mauritius. Main
industry in these countries would be mining/sugar/cement and aggregate. Requires
strong technical aptitude and experience. The Sales Engineer for SADC role will be based
at home office in Cape Town but they MUST reside in close proximity to the airport
about 50kms.
Offer: Basic salary will be R45k to R54k based on experience. Company contributions,
66% towards medical aid, 11% towards pension and life cover, company car, fuel.

Minimum requirements
• National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and / or a BSc Mechanical degree and / or B. Tech (Mechanical); trade papers or exposure to formal workshop training.
• 4-6 years’ experience in a related Service & Sales function within a manufacturing/industrial industry.
• Solid market and sales knowledge of the SADC region (A MUST) as well as uncharted countries in the region.
• Ability to adapt to different countries cultures in the SADC region.
• Experience in an American multinational company will be helpful.
• Project / contract management experience.
• Computer literate (MS Office).
• Maintain the opportunity management project database (CRM).
• Self-starter and highly motivated.
• Fluent in English: ability to compose own correspondence in English; (e.g. letters, reports, proposals, quotations).
• Ability to deliver presentations to customers at all levels in the organization.
• Ability & Talent to engage with customers commercial & technical depts.
• Technical aptitude - ability to read mechanical engineering drawings and suggest application recommendations.
• Valid driver’s license – no endorsements.
• Ability to travel extensively. Travel 75% of the time in the SADC region - remote areas.

Responsibilities
• Maintains contact with existing customers to contribute to the maintenance and development of long-term relationships.
• Provides service and sales support to customers to ensure that any issues are actioned effectively.
• Provides technical solutions to prevent and resolve application performance problems and thereby maximise operational uptime for strategic customers.
• Develops training programs and provides technical training services to internal and external customers to build knowledge on the application and maintenance of products.
• Maintains close links with all internal teams to ensure that any changes or issues are actioned effectively (including warranty and quality).
• Extends range of product or service relationships with major end-use customers to grow revenue.
• Develops plans and proposals to meet customer needs and achieve revenue objectives.
• Promotes and presents ideas and proposals to major end-user customers.
• Promotion of company products aligned with the sales effort.
• Increased generation of sales through services provided and collaboration with sales team and other areas.

Scope of the position
To integrate the knowledge and experience of a Technical Service Representative into the Sales and Marketing activities and tactics of the SADC region (Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Namibia, Seychelles, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe) by the demonstration of leadership in providing and/or coordinating a complete spectrum of technical services to the customer plant and design engineering interface associated with avoidance and resolution of all problems relating to product quality and performance. The resulting customer relationships are then leveraged to promote client bearings and related products and/or services to selected key customers and to support through technical consultation, various bearing and service business development tactics of specific strategy industries. Developing broader commercial opportunities at both existing and new customer's to ensure that client takes full advantage of these opportunities in order to strengthen customer relationships and grow the business.

Purpose
Regional Engineers are the primary technical resource for the field sales force. Regional Engineers are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for the company’s products. The Regional Engineer must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users. Must be able to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. Must be able to establish and maintain strong internal and external relationships throughout the sales cycle.
