Requirements/Qualifications/Skills:
+ 5 years’ experience in gas/cryogenics industry
High school grade 12 with technical drafting or mechanical subjects
N3 technical qualification
Fitter & turner
Be able to read and understand mechanical assembly drawings
Must be able to work overtime
Must have valid driver’s license
Good organization skills
Sound knowledge of measuring, temperature and pressure units
Sound knowledge of metal types, grade, thread types and sizing
Positive attitude
Technical aptitude and familiarity with manufacturing processes
Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
Flexibility to adapt to deadlines, changing schedules, priorities, and unpredictable events within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Main Responsibilities:
The following duties will apply to mechanical/ cryogenic pumps, vacuum pumps, safety relief valves, thermal relief valves, non-return valves, strainers, pressure regulators, manual globe valves, manual gate valves
Stripping, inspecting, assessing and reporting of equipment
Compiling of parts lists
Cleaning/ degreasing of equipment and parts
Black light inspections on degreased items
Assembling of equipment and parts
Final inspection and reporting of assembled items
Pneumatic pressure testing of assembled items
Hydrostatic pressure testing

Position Type: Permanent
Salary Range: Sal Neg. subject to experience – R 15 000 to R 25 000
