This position is based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia:
The incumbent is responsible to lead the MRC UBC procurement organization for the procurement of Used Beverage Cans (UBCs) in Europe, North America, South America and rest of the world that will make the company a major buyer in the region. He will procure the entire requirement of UBCs for the MRC Can Recycling Plant directly through the organization. He will create a global strategy to augment our scrap procurement and recycling assets to bolster our goal of achieving more of recycled content in our products by 2020. Therefore, he will be responsible for the sourcing of UBCs, from strategy to evaluation of suppliers to contract negotiation to the delivery of quality UBCs to the CRU located in the Integrated Aluminium Complex, Ras-Al-Khair, Saudi Arabia. He must typically handle more complex procurement tasks as per the Ma’aden procurement policies, procedures, and the relevant legislation.
• Bachelor's or master’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Economics, Applied Science, or a Related Field.
• Accreditation from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) is preferable.
13 years with 5 years of relevant experience
Experience in analysing, negotiation, and deal-making
Experience in handling a portfolio of several hundred million dollars
Experience in UBC purchase/sales business
Analytical Skills: He will be working with multiple vendors to determine the best deals for the company and will have to evaluate the many pros and cons of each, based on price, quality, speed of delivery and other factors.
Decision-Making Skills: He will need to use the information he has gathered to make decisions on behalf of the company.
Math Skills: Basic math skills will be needed to analyse prices and get the best deals possible.
Negotiating Skills: He will be working with suppliers to create the best deals. Negotiating skills will help him create those deals.
Ability to develop and maintain excellent customer relationships
Strategic and marketing mind-set
Experience of a start-up / ramp up desirable
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
