Blasting Certificate Metalliferous (Hard Rock Mining) Essential
Minimum 5 years’ supervisory working experience within a mining environment
Computer Literate (MS Office Suite)
Valid Drivers’ License
Must be prepared to relocate
Monitor and control the production process by allocating and managing resources (people and equipment) to attain the production targets.
Communicate operational information and changes to relevant stakeholder to minimize delays in Ore extraction
Complete logbooks and other legal documentation required under the Regulations and mines procedures and standards
Continuously analyse relevant mining activities to recommend or implement improvements and changes to maximise outputs
Co-ordinate and manage labour structures and plan required relevant training
Co-ordinate and monitor mining activities to ensure adherence to mine standards and operational targets
Co-ordinate shift hand over by checking log sheets, physical mining activities, and communicate to relevant subordinates
Ensure that material is ordered and delivered on time
Ensure that people wear the correct PPE at all times
Perform accident and incident investigation(s) according to organisational standards
Perform risk assessments (Activity Based and Mini)
Plan activities in accordance to operational and maintenance schedules and allocate resources as required
Responsible for conducting planned job observations
Responsible for ensuring proper ventilation underground
Responsible for ensuring that the working place is safe
Responsible for planning and organising crews who are under the direct control of the miner
Responsible for planning, controlling, leading and organising repairs and breakdowns
Supervise and ensure that blasting operations such as controlling of explosives, preparing workings for blasting, charging up at sites, conducting blasting and treating misfires are executed according to standards and procedures
Must be able to work shifts, overtime and be able to do standby, callouts
Must be prepared to relocate
R33 000- R34 000 plus overtime and shift and standby and call outs allowances
