Our client, a premium brand reputable motor dealership requires the services of a qualified motor technician in Cape Town. Roadside assistant experience and previous experience with a premium brand would be beneficial.

Responsibilities and Duties

Servicing and repair work in accordance with company guidelines and standards.
Written documentation of his/her own servicing and repair work corresponding to papers provided (order card), according to current workshop rule, regulations and standard SOP’S.
Observance of administrative processes according to Company Standards.
Ensuring that the working environment is clean and safe.
Ensuring that tools are available and in working order.
Participation in measures/ programmes to improve skills.
Requesting necessary materials (parts, tools etc.) in time to perform duties according to standards.
Continuous improvement of product skills and technical ability.
Ensure that Company standards for the trading organisation are observed or exceeded for administration and technical scenarios.
Co-ordination of his/her own work with service advisors and parts sales.
Report any defective tools and or equipment as well as any practice by others that will detract from performing duties to standard. This will include the reporting of any additional work to client vehicles as identified during the repair/ service process.

Qualifications and Skills

Post-secondary education, typically in the form of a trade school diploma - MERSETA Qualified petrol automotive technician
Minimum 3 years experience as a qualified technician
Premium brand experience will be an advantage
Communication skills - both verbal and non verbal of a high standard in English (Secondary language skills beneficial to post position).
Must work well with other technicians and service advisors; co-ordinate own activities with parts sales as far as necessary; support colleagues in dealing with problems
Must be able to organise, plan and prioritise own work
Learning orientation - Ready and able to undergo continuous learning of new products, processes, methods etc.
Have a basic knowledge of computers (Word, Excel).
Possess problem solving and decision making ability
Willing to work on weekends as well as travel
Must have a valid drivers license
