Responsibilities:
• Assess the level of demand daily with all relevant parties involved and ensure the required timing is met or alternative measures are initiated.
• Control of component quality and related issues.
• Manage performance of employees on a regular basis and establish training plans for individuals
• Practice good management & leadership style
• Occupational Health and Safety with regards to all resources: machines & equipment, people and building
• Attend to all administration & documentation.
• Compilation of weekly and monthly departmental reports – efficiencies, service levels, equipment and general issues.
• Cost effectiveness and budget related responsibilities. Input into Operational & Capital expenditure for budgeting purposes.
• Review Operational expenditure monthly.
• Daily review of the signalling report to ensure manufactured items are in line with company requirements
• Monthly visits to Lesotho.
• Liaise with toolroom regarding tooling requirements.
• Liaise with maintenance regarding machines and equipment.
• Practice lean manufacturing principles.
• Ensure that Quality policies and procedures are enforced and managed.
• Ensure that succession planning is implemented for critical process’.

Qualifications and Skills Requirements
• Grade 12
• National Diploma or B - Tech Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering
• 5 years’ experience in a managerial role
• Knowledge of plastics (advantageous)
• Intermediate financial knowledge pertaining to setting up and controlling budget
