Our Client a national NPO / NPC is looking to employ a NATIONAL BO NETWORK DEVELOPMENT MANAGER to be based in Cape Town.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Manage the relationships between the Organisation and the national Beneficiary Organisation network, and ensure that the Beneficiary Organisation strategy aligns with the organisation’s business strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Beneficiary Organisations (BOs)
* Develop and implement strategies and initiatives aligned with the organisation’s overall business strategy.
* Implement strategies to bridge the organisation national office and BO relations, as well as BO and the organisation branch relations.
* Grow the BO population in line with the organisation’s strategic objectives, ensuring that there is good representation from the rural areas nationally.
* Authorise the approval of all new BOs to the membership database, once they have complied with the Organisation criteria.
* Conduct various BO demographics and other surveys, ensuring that the information is submitted timeously by BOs and that the BO data is accurate.
* Ensure that the organisation’s coverage matches the poverty nodes across South Africa.
* In consultation with your team and the various branches, schedule and attend all the BO meetings nationally, and ensure 85% attendance of BOs.
* Attend timeously to any complaints, concerns or inquiries that may arise.
* Ensure that all BOs pay their monthly membership fees on time.
* Ensuring that BO fees cover at least 50% of the local branch costs.
* Ensure that each member BO is visited / assessed at least 3 times a year.
* Ensure that systems and processes are in place to monitor, evaluate, and ensure compliance of BOs to the FFSA agreement, processes, regulations and requirements.

2. FoodShare and Virtual FoodBanking (VFB)
* Ensure that FoodShare always has the most current BO information.
* Ensure the proper implementation of the Virtual FoodBanking business process nationally.
* Ensure that the VFB database of BOs linked to stores is always up to date.
* Expand the VFB reach to semi-urban and rural areas.
* Attend to all BO or supplier challenges that may arise.

3. Special Projects
* Co-ordinate and consult with various stakeholders to ensure that each of organisation’s special projects are implemented efficiently and effectively.
* Ensure that each of the special projects has sufficient human and other resources, supplies etc. at all times.

4. Reporting
* Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as and when needed.
* Prepare reports for donors / funders as requested in the funding agreement / project plan, or provide information to the FD team as and when needed.
* Review tonnage reports allocated to BOs and ensure that not too little and not too much stock is being distributed to BOs.

5. General
* Support and assist with the company’s events and campaigns as and when needed
* Assist with the investigation and set-up of branch relocations / new branches / affiliates
* Investigate improper or criminal activity of BOs selling food or misrepresenting the work they do.
* Reporting and administration

KEY QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

* A degree or diploma in Social Work or behavioral sciences essential
* Minimum of 8 years’ proven experience at middle / senior level management
* Excellent verbal and written English, Afrikaans, and Xhosa preferred
* Excellent listening and negotiation skills
* Competence in building and effectively managing interpersonal relationships at various levels
* People oriented and results driven
* Team orientation with proven leadership skills essential
* Practical problem solving and implementation skills
* Working knowledge and experience of current NPO sector and trends
* Taking initiative, flexibility and ability to cope with change
* Good business ethics and professionalism
* Driver’s license and own vehicle essential
* Willingness to undertake national travel
* Willingness to work overtime when needed
* Proficient with Microsoft Office
