The company wishes to employ a National Ultrasound Application Specialist, based in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will report to the National Product Manager: Imaging Division
The role is responsible for “owning” the client engagement process, ensuring that we get our machines in front of the client and introduce the best solution / equipment for the client. This is a senior position with the responsibility to both grow the company in the division and to manage all supporting resources to ensure the sales of the product.
The primary role is to consult with doctors/ decision makers and the sales team during client assessment, needs analysis and client meetings with a focus on promoting the equipment by demonstrating the product and its unique features and benefits.
Summary of Requirements
Ability to get the relevant machine in front of the doctors and introduce the benefits of the machine, and its benefits against the competition
AIM to carry out a minimum of 3 x demonstrations per week (whether arranged by the SP or yourself)
Responsible for marketing the product to the relevant audience through demonstration, with respect to the area of specialisation
Create and maintain relationships by providing support, information, and guidance and promoting the equipment to high level professionals
Remain current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies, attending industry-related, company-approved seminars
Maintain current appropriate industry certifications
Know the competition and how we are positioned in order to best exploit our unique selling points
Understanding of how the solutions map against client requirements and ability to communicate such understanding verbally and in writing
Sound technical knowledge and other discovery to identify actual needs and buying criteria
Determine a solution set that would meet that defined need
They will clearly add value by multiplying rather than dividing corporate initiatives. They will be capable of coaching their team to improved levels of performance, or providing continuous training when required, to keep the team on track, and of developing the individuals in the team to achieve their fullest potential
Training clients, staff, new staff, and technical staff on the workings of the equipment.
Ability to demonstrate the equipment at congresses and conferences and answer all questions relating to competitive products
Assist sales in closing the deal
Support sales and end user
Assist in presenting quotes
Ability to operate professionally in front of any audience.
Educate the sales team on the technical aspects of the product
Is linked at the hip to the sales team throughout the entire sales process
Qualifications and Experience
Computer Literacy
Minimum of a matriculation certificate is required.
A business related qualification is beneficial
Sonography background highly recommended
Ability to do scans, have medical background experience
Ability to operate the equipment professionally and to train effectively
Experience in sales
