Do you want to be part of a dynamic IT infrastructure team? Our client, a progressive software development company seek to appoint a Network Administrator with a minimum of 3 years experience within a Mikrotik networking environment. Sound knowledge of network security and user support will form part of your responsibilities.

Requirements:

• A+, N+, Security+ & MSCE. Linux server & CCNA certifications will be beneficial.
• Experience managing virtual and physical server environments
• At least 3 years of experience in network administration
• Experience setting up and managing Mikrotik networking equipment
• Experience managing and troubleshooting medium sized networks
• 1-3 years’ experience in Linux server environments.
• Previous exposure to Security +, PowerShell Scripting and basic Python scripting will be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

• Install and maintain network & server hardware and software
• Maintain and troubleshoot LAN, WAN and internet network infrastructure - This includes firewall, router and switching equipment
• Understanding/implementation of network router and switching equipment
• Understanding/implementation of network security: Secure VPN practices (L2TP), Firewall security, System Security (Linux and Windows) etc.
• Maintaining & Backing-up of Mail server and Linux PostgreSQL data storage system
• Management of Domains
• Perform regular network health checks
• Problem determination and resolution
• Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
• Lead desktop support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
• Support Linux & Windows 2016 servers (Physical and virtualized systems)
• Administration of Proxmox Clusters: performance & health checks, VM migrations, etc.
• Configure and maintain Network and Datacentre monitoring and alerting
• Participating as a member of the after-hours standby team
• Performing maintenance after-hours and on weekends as and when required
• Maintain & Administrate VOIP system: Verto
