Requirements, skills and experience
• Completed matric/ Grade 12
• Networking qualification (A+ or N+ Level)
• Advanced Excel and Word skills
• 1-2 years+ exp in networking.
• Previous shift work experience
• Own transport
• Basic understanding of hardware, operating systems (Linux or Windows) applications
• Exp of system administration tasks
• Exp in installation and set-up of networks, servers and work stations (advantageous)
• English skills (verbal & written)
• Strong client interaction skills
• Good communicator, team worker & customer oriented
Duties
• Offer first line support (health checks)
• Monitor client infrastructure according to SLA
• Implement structured process of managing IP addresses
• Deploy a customizable system to manage the allocation of IP addresses
• Integrate the IPAM solution with the current Network Monitoring tool for live subnet, IP and Mac feeds
• Adopt a functional process of logging IP addresses changes/requests
• Instrument a process of identifying the purpose and ownership of all IP addresses that provides services on the network (IP RICA)
• Act on alarms & associated commands on monitors
• Liaise with Engineer of out of line situations
• Complete daily, weekly & monthly QA reports
• New & current testing compared
• Perform admin tasks & maintain database of monitored objects
• Keep hardware in good condition
