Pick Me Recruitment has exciting opportunities for an experienced Hotel General Manager and Executive Chef.
Our client is currently building a new 10-bedroom Boutique Hotel in Ballito, KZN. The property will have 4 guest rooms, 3 suites and a 3 bedroomed private villa. There will be 3 pools on site and a spa. The ambience is intended to offer guests a relaxed, coastal feel centered on wellness and feeling good. Guests will be able to unwind and feel right at home with professional and authentic five-star service. The property leads onto a small swimming friendly beach with its own tidal pool. Nearby are a variety of activities from deep sea fishing to golf and is 20 minutes from King Shaka Airport. Guests will be a mix of international and domestic looking for a beach escape. Most International visitors will combine a visit to the game reserves with our beach offering.

GENERAL MANAGER: Minimum Requirements & Key Responsibilities:

This is a great opportunity for a proven leader to set up a new hotel in an exciting location.
• Diploma in Hotel Management required or related tertiary qualification
• Assist and manage the requirements necessary for a successful opening of the hotel
• Set up service procedures that will ensure guest satisfaction and surpass guest expectations
• Broad experience in hotel operations included Rooms, F&B, Admin, Sales & Marketing
• A strong and empathetic leader who can communicate effectively with guests, associates and owners
• Guest focused with a service-oriented management style
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and administration skills
• Will be required to set up systems and operation manuals and then train and implement them
• Long hours will sometimes be required and be available 24/7, weekends and holidays

EXECUTIVE CHEF: Minimum Requirements & Key Responsibilities

The chef is critical to the successful launch of this property. The food offering must be incredible from the start with guests raving about their food experience. This is an opportunity to set up a food operation from scratch in consultation with the owners and General Manger. The intention is to source ingredients locally and offer dishes that reflect KwaZulu Natal and the immediate supplies. Focus is on fresh, healthy and tasty offerings. Menus should be adaptable to allow for some staples but also personalised offerings depending on what is available in the market.

• Formal Culinary qualification
• Assist and manage the requirements necessary for a successful opening of the hotel and specifically the food and beverage operations
• Set up service procedures that will ensure guest satisfaction and surpass guest expectations
• Broad experience in cheffing and particularity in setting up a similar kitchen is required
• A strong and empathetic leader who can communicate effectively with guests, associates and owners
• Guest focused with a service-oriented management style
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and administration skills
• Will be required to set up systems and operation manuals and then train and implement them
• Long hours will sometimes be required and be available 24/7, weekends and holidays

Remuneration:

• Market Related
• On completion of probationary period a 50% co-payment for Momentum medical aid is available as well as a provident fund contribution
• A small studio apartment is available if necessary but there are a variety of accommodation offerings in the Ballito area.
