Occupational Medical Practitioner

Requirements:

MB ChB Degree or equivalent
Recognised Specialist Occupational Medicine Qualification
Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa
Extensive knowledge of an insight into the Mine Health and Safety Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Compensation for Occupational injuries and diseases Act, Occupational Diseases in Mines and Works Act
Travelling to other areas may be required


Responsibilities:

Occupational Medical Team providers a cost effective occupational medicine service to the Mine, its operating Companies and Contractors
Day to day management of the Occupational and Primary Health Centres, Management of Primary Health care patients, statutory medical surveillance and fitness to work assessments, multidisciplinary team work including reports to colleagues, related disciplines, Management, Emergency Medical Services and rehabilitation team
Cost effective patient management
Promoting health education
Working with staff members as part of the team
