Ophthalmic Assistant (JB664)

Salary: R25 - 30 000 per month (negotiable)

Ophthalmology practice in Randburg requires an Optometrist with experience in an Ophthalmologists rooms to join a busy practice in the capacity of a Ophthalmic Assistant. Candidates who are wanting to apply should be able to work in a pressurised environment, be organised and detail orientated.
• Rooms set up, equipment care and cleaning + liaison with companies
• Patient history, eyedrops, visual field testing and imaging (OCT, colour and fluorescein angiography)
• Assist doctor with procedures and lasers
• Rooms hygiene, autoclaving and sterile packs
• Stock take and orders
• Biometry and post-op refraction, B-scans
• Admin including help with coding, authorisations, motivations, progress reports
• Theatre preparation and lists
