Key Purpose of the Job Title: M-Sure System/Database administration
The System/database Administrator (junior intermediate level) contributes to the organisational goals by providing technical support, system administration, configuration and optimisation to the client`s Applications and Database systems.

Key Objectives, Duties and Responsibilities of the System Administrator

Applications and Database are:
Provide application system setup, support, backups, health checks, monitoring, performance and maintenance (24x7 support),
Provide Oracle 11g database system setup, support, backups, health checks, monitoring, performance and maintenance (24x7 support),
Capture and update system administration related support calls through the IT support helpdesk system,
Manage own IT support call technical assignments and according to set Service Level agreements,
Assist with resolution of Application and Database related incidents according to the set SLA,
After-hours support and task executions may be required and includes occasional co-ordination and execution of project related tasks,
Show aptitude with regards to web application programming (Java or .Net)
Show aptitude with MSSQL and ORACLE database development.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a busy IT support client services delivery environment, ensure clients’ expectations are managed, call status and resolutions are well communicated and shows a high degree of professionalism and proficiency in servicing clients.

Education Requirements:
Matric,
IT certification in generalist systems development or database certification.

Experience Requirements:
+3 years in a similar systems/database administration support role working in a ±100 user size company where the candidate was responsible for one or more of the following:
application system setup, support, backups, health checks, monitoring, performance and maintenance
database system setup, support, backups, health checks, monitoring, performance and maintenance
Compilation of technical documentation, technical diagrams and relevant reports.
Some experience/understanding of integration technologies such as web-services, JSON, XML formats.
Additional optional experience:
Has developed applications in either Java or .Net,
Ubuntu or other Linux distribution setup and administration,
Helpdesk system operations (logging and updating of support calls),
