OVERHEAD CRANE DRIVER

Our client based in Vanderbijlpark has a permanent position available for a person with the following
QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum: NQF 4 or Grade 12 or similar
• Valid driver’s license
• Valid forklift license is essential.
EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working with Overhead Crane and Forklift
• English proficiency
• Must be medically fit
RESPONSIBLITIES
• Monitor and change shaving bins when necessary.
• Load and off load transfer bogies.
• Load and off load trucks for despatch.
• Drive machine shop pendant cranes, help with slinging
• Find and move rolls to required next job location blocks.
• Knock-off end pieces (head and risers) partly parted off.
• Machine centres and flats into rough casting with a horizontal type drilling/milling machine when required
• Load and off load rolls into machines.
• Find and move rolls to required next job location blocks.

• Load and off load rolls into machines.
• Assist with cleaning of shop and machines where required
• Assist in fastening and securing work piece in machine.
• Driving a forklift
• Moving transfer bogie by means of operating a winch.
• Moving rolls in inspection areas when required.
• Remove shaving bins to required area for collection by forklift
• Report all safety hazards and near misses to the Shift Supervisor/Reporting system for immediate action.
• Accept all reasonable instructions from the Shift Supervisor.
