PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Parts Manager is responsible for providing strategic services for the branch parts department in order to ensure effective and efficient parts distribution operations. The Parts Manager must comply with the Financial Administration Act, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and departmental procedures that may change due to operational requirements to ensure the smooth operations at branch level re all parts acquisition and distribution within the guidelines and budgetary constraints that apply.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide support in order to ensure effective and efficient parts operations:

Main Activities:

Maintains a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the service department, body shop, retail market accounts, and the do-it-yourself public.
Assists in establishing pricing parameters in each customer category that generate sufficient gross profit to produce a satisfactory profit while maintaining customer loyalty.
Establishes individual parts inventory levels and balances them for maximum turnover.
Monitors and adjusts inventory to minimize obsolescence.
Ensure that all returned or warranty parts are properly tagged so that the dealership recovers full credit from the factory.
Assists in the supervision of the stock order procedures.
Ensure technicians are adequately supplied with all parts and materials as needed.
Oversees Purchasing of supplies & materials for Service Department, body shop and retail market.
Conforms to policy on the special ordering of parts.
Analyzes sales, expenses, and inventory monthly to maintain profit goals.
Administers a new aggressive wholesale & retail parts program to produce profit.
Ensures that the same high quality level of service provided to outside customers is also provided to internal dealership customers.
Works with the Body Shop & Service Managers to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs.
Assists in analyzing departmental operations and storage layout and revises as needed for maximum effectiveness.
Provides technical assistance to employees and customers.
Coordinates a prompt, efficient, and timely flow of paperwork.
Directs shipping and receiving efforts to ensure timely processing.
Assists in developing sales promotions.
Seek out new parts business supply and retail outlets.
Seek out new vendors, suppliers and manufactures and negotiate terms and pricing for greater profitability.
Enforces and monitors guidelines for working with customers to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
Handles customer complaints immediately and according to the Company’s guidelines, forwards all concerns to the group After Sales Manager and Dealer Principals.
Ensures that all dealership purchases are properly accounted for before payment is made.
Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with state and local regulations that may affect parts sales.
Accepts other responsibilities as requested by the After Sales Manager or Dealer Principal.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum three years of related automotive parts sales and management experience
Minimum Grade 12/ N3 or equivalent as approved by QCTO School leaver’s certification
Diploma or Degree will be an advantage
Must be a Sales Person at heart.
Automotive experience is a must
Excellent computer skills required (Windows, Explorer, and Outlook).
Valid drivers license
Willing to work on Saturdays
