Payroll Administrator
The purpose of the role is to administer all payroll functions and processes in accordance with company policy and procedures to ensure remuneration to sales staff employees are paid correctly and on time.
The Incumbent will be responsible for:
• Implementing/updating all permanent and temporary financial, job and personal data on the payroll system, e.g. new appointments, terminations, promotions, transfers, ad hoc payments, bank detail changes, deductions, etc.
• Implementing and applying benefits in accordance with company policies and benefit structures, e.g. leave registration, medical scheme and pension fund changes, Unattached Group Life scheme, etc.
• Effect authorised manual payments on request by line managers and ensure that the necessary accounting and payroll processes are adhered to, e.g. salary advances, competition payments, etc.
• Investigating and clear outstanding items on the different control accounts, e.g. advance accounts, salary- and commission control accounts, etc.
• Preparing journal entries to rectify/clear outstanding items on control accounts
• Assisting team leader with investigation and correction of items on Medical Aid discrepancy report to ensure medical aid deductions and membership is correct
• Assisting team leader with Tax year end processes to ensure annual tax certificates are correct
• Handling payroll related enquiries and queries from employees, line managers, internal and external departments/institutions, e.g. Medical Aid, EB, Financial Institutions, Dept of Labour , etc.
• Ensure that the Administration is done correctly
The applicant should meet these requirements:
• Matric or NQF 4 with Maths and or Accounting
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Experience in the administration of New Appointment processes
• Experience on various remuneration structures
• Experience in benefit structures
• Knowledge of commission processes
• Knowledge of statutory legislation and Tax year end processes
