Our client, in the FMCG industry, requires the service of a Payroll Officer who will be responsible for the management and supervision of the company’s payroll functions. The Payroll Officer will also be responsible for ensuring pay and relevant third parties are processed timeously, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.


Key performance areas:

? Responsible for the management of staff in the payroll department
? Facilitate auditors in the audit process
? Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures
? Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, taxes, and other deductions
? Ensures that payroll processing systems
? Responsible for the maintenance of accurate records and payroll transaction
? Responsible for compliance with legislative compliance
? Perform other duties as assigned

The successful candidate must have:

? Matric with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Business Administration/Human Resources or relevant qualification
? Experience managing the payroll functions in a company with a large staff complement
? Must have 3 – 5 years relevant experience with integrated payroll systems
? Must have experience using SAGE People 300
? Good understanding of Employee Tax and Employee Benefit Fund administration
? A sound knowledge of the required legislation
? Payroll experience across other African countries will be advantageous
? Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
? Excellent computer literacy (MS Office, Google Suite & Relevant payroll software)
? Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
? Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
? Strong supervisory and leadership skills
