About the role

To create an enabling environment to drive performance and employee engagement within the company
To define and implement relevant and appropriate human resource plans/initiatives/projects.
To facilitate the delivery of clients strategic human resource priorities.

Minimum Requirements

• Post graduate degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organisational Psychology or another closely related field.
• At least 5- 8 years’ experience as a HR Business Partner/HR Manager.

Key Performance Areas

• Promotion of sound labour/employee relations practices
o Provide strategic support to managers on the handling of grievance procedures
o Facilitate the sound employer-employee relations through managing and overseeing effective and efficient implementation and compliance with labour laws
o Manage conflict/disputes
o Implement and communicate the employee relations strategy and ensure that employee relations are achieved
o To assist with employee related negotiations/consultations
o Oversee the implementation of the wellness programme
o Plan and be responsible for staff engagement activities and events
o Ensure compliance with OHS legislation, policies, standards and procedures
o Ensure that the staff handbook is relevant, comprehensive and up to date

• HR Consultation
o Consult with managers and provide HR guidance
o Provide HR policy guidance
o Act as a single point of contact for clients staff and managers on people related matters

• HR strategy development and implementation
o Assist in applying sound recruitment and selection practices, and appropriate induction, training and development programmes
o Develop employee relationships and promote diversity to build and maximise human capacity
o Monitor HR policy implementation, compliance and effectiveness
o Consult with managers to assess benefits, compensation and compliance needs
o Provide training and development on Human Resources policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with HR policies and procedures
o Provide input into workforce and succession planning
o Analyse data trends and metrics to inform business decisions
o Find ways to build morale, improve workplace relationships, and boost productivity


• Performance Management
o Ensure the active management of performance and poor performers
o Ensure the implementation of clients performance management systems in collaboration with the relevant Centre of Excellence
o Collaborate with managers and ensure the link between performance and remunerations is communicated and understood

• Implementation of Talent Management Systems
o Assist in identifying critical and core operational roles
o Facilitate talent reviews and forums and monitor the implementation of talent development actions with the People Practitioners
o Promoting high levels of insightful career conversations, coaching and mentoring opportunities
o Assist in identifying solutions on building initiatives to improve readiness of talent
o Participate in HR related projects and provide advice on talent management

• Coaching and mentoring
o Implementation of an effective coaching and mentoring programme

• Facilitate change management and organisational effectiveness programmes
o Ensure that OD and change management strategies are implemented and monitored
